Welcome Back! Week of the Young Child

Welcome back from Spring Break! We hope everyone had a relaxing break and a happy Easter! This week, April 13-17, is the Week of the Young Child for NAEYC. Below is the schedule of events that will be taking place this week! We will have so much fun!

Monday: Dot the Storyteller and dress up as your favorite book character
Tuesday: Athlete Day and Goudy Park Visit with water balloon toss
Wednesday: Caring Day - Making cookies with your class for a bake sale
Thursday: Artist Day - Create a class mural
Friday: Mystery Reader's and Writer's, cookie bake sale, and family picnic

January Announcements

Happy New Year Kindergarten Families!

Here are some important announcements to keep in mind for the month of January:

Monday, January 5 - School Resumes, Full Day 

Monday, January 12 - Kindergarten field trip to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra 

Monday, January 19 - No School, Martin Luther King Jr. Day 

Week of January 26 - Catholic Schools Week

As the weather gets chillier and snowier, please remember that students need boots, coat, gloves, and snow pants in order to play in the snow. Students are welcome to keep boots and snow pants at school. Students must also have a dry change of shoes to wear during the school day.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all our ICSJ families!!! Thanks for all your continued support and generosity throughout the first half of the school year.  Have a relaxing and wonderful break! See you in 2015! School resumes on January 5, 2015.

Polar Express Day

Polar Express Day will be Friday, December 5th. Students will be able to wear pajamas to school! We will be reading the story, watching the movie, and enjoying hot chocolate! :)

Sibling Applications

Please remember that sibling applications are due by Friday, November 7.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all our families and students! Be safe and stay warm on this wintry Halloween! Thank you to the parents who volunteered for our parties and the support during the parade. We had such a fun day! :) We are so lucky to have such amazing families and students.

Sonny Acres Field Trip

Don't forget that our field trip to Sonny Acres is an all day field trip, Wednesday, October 22! Please send students in PE uniforms with appropriate weather-related clothing since we will be outside. Students need to bring a sack lunch with disposable pieces. Students will be having snack before we leave school at 9:15 am. Thank you to our chaperones who will be accompanying us on our trip. We can't wait to have a great day! Please contact your child's classroom teachers for any specific questions.
